ServiceStake (servicestake.com) is owned and operated by Inferno Marketing (78212 Newfoundland and Labrador Limited), referred to here as "ServiceStake," "we," "us" or "our." This policy explains what information we collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have.
The short version
- You can browse ServiceStake without giving us any personal information.
- When you ask about a program, we send your details only to that program, and only because you asked us to.
- We never sell your information, and we never share it with another program unless you choose to.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
Information you give us
When you ask about a program (the "Request details" or inquiry form), we collect: your name, email address, phone number, city, state, the program you asked about, your timeline, the capital range you selected, and your consent to be contacted.
When a brand claims a listing, we collect: the person's name, job title, work email address, phone number and confirmation that they are authorized to manage the listing.
When you email us, we keep the message and your contact details so we can reply.
Information collected automatically
Like nearly every website, our hosting provider records standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the time of your visit. We use it to keep the site running, secure and fast. We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy first.
How we use your information
- To handle your inquiry. We send your details to the one program you asked about so its sales team can reply to you. We may also contact you ourselves to confirm your request or follow up on it.
- To offer alternatives. If the program does not respond within a few business days, we may email you a short list of similar programs. You decide whether to contact any of them; we do not send your details to them unless you ask us to.
- To verify and manage claimed listings. We use claim details to confirm the person works for the brand and to manage the listing with them.
- To run and improve the site, including preventing spam and abuse.
- To meet legal obligations.
Who we share information with
- The program you choose. When you submit an inquiry, your details go to that program only. Once a program has your information, its own privacy policy applies to how it uses it.
- Service providers who help us run ServiceStake, such as our website host, our customer relationship management system (operated by Inferno 360) and our email delivery provider. They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or ServiceStake.
- If the business changes hands. If ServiceStake is sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner, who must honour this policy.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with other programs, advertisers or data brokers.
How ServiceStake makes money
ServiceStake is free for candidates and brands. Inferno Marketing earns revenue when a franchise or dealer program hires it to find and screen owner candidates, paid per qualified call. Your inquiry about a program is never sold to a different program, and paying clients get no better placement in the directory.
Where your information is stored
ServiceStake is operated from Canada, and our service providers may store information in the United States, Canada or other countries. Wherever it is stored, we protect it as described in this policy.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry and claim records for as long as needed to handle the request and follow up on it, and for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Then we delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can, at any time:
- ask what personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it;
- ask us to delete it;
- withdraw your consent to be contacted;
- unsubscribe from any email we send, using the link in that email.
Email us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days. If we cannot fulfil a request, for example because the law requires us to keep certain records, we will tell you why. Deleting your information from our records does not delete copies a program already received at your request; contact that program directly for those.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
ServiceStake is meant for adults exploring business ownership. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify people affected.
